pure fun, chaos and love - A Punk Rock Love Riot at Bateman’s Barn

Every now and then, I walk away from a wedding buzzing so hard it feels like I’ve just stepped out of a gig rather than a barn in the Suffolk countryside. This was exactly one of those days. Bateman’s Barn, just over the border, played host to an absolute belter of a wedding, and honestly, I’m still grinning about it. Absolutely a punk rock love riot at Bateman’s Barn

Prep vibes & familiar faces

From the moment I rocked up, I knew this was going to be one of those weddings. The bridal prep was buzzing, hair spray in the air, laughter ricocheting off the walls, and a couple of familiar supplier mates on the scene too. Always nice to see a few friendly faces while we’re getting everyone camera ready.

And then… the dad’s first look. Damn. That moment never gets old. The raw emotion, the pride, the “my little girl all grown up” moment. Yep - even I got a bit misty eyed behind the camera (don’t tell anyone).

A bride in a veil faces a smiling dad in a blue suit, hands clasped near his face, outdoors with greenery. Both display joy and surprise.

Ceremony goals

The ceremony itself? Gorgeous. But not just in the “flowers, aisle, vows” kind of way - I mean full on personality, dripping with the couple’s vibe. Acoustic punk rock bangers were woven through the day like a secret playlist only the cool kids knew about. It was unique, unapologetic, and totally them.

Sunflowers, jogs & champagne chaos

Post ceremony, the whole crew rolled out like an army into a nearby sunflower field. And when I say the energy was high - think festival crowd, not Sunday stroll. It was all laughs, colour, and that “holy shit, we just got married” glow.

Then I whisked the couple away with the videographer for some proper fun. Somehow, I even convinced the groom (who was not about jogging in any way, shape or form) to break into a cheeky run for the camera. He hated it. We loved it. Fair trade.

And then came the champagne spray. Mega. Capital M. Some of my best shots of the year, easy. If sticky shoes and soaked suits are the price of magic, then this was worth every drop.

Soul, funk & a punk rock moshpit

When the band wrapped up their funky set, the DJ threw on punk rock anthems, and the place just… erupted. Drinks flying, dance moves getting progressively questionable (and brilliant), and me right in the thick of it - camera in one hand, half a jiggy in the other. It wasn’t polished, it wasn’t perfect… it was real, messy, loud, and bloody beautiful, just how I like it!!

My kinda wedding

Look, I love all weddings. But some? Some just hit different. This one was my idea of a perfect day: a couple who didn’t give a toss about “rules,” surrounded by their people, soaking up every second of joy, chaos, and punk rock magic.

Honestly, best couple ever. Best day ever. And proof (yet again) that weddings don’t have to follow the script to be unforgettable.
