Alicha & Tom's Incredible Assembly House Wedding | Norwich Wedding Photographer

As a Norfolk wedding photographer, there are certain venues that always get me excited when they pop up in my diary, and The Assembly House in Norwich is definitely one of them.

Right in the heart of Norwich city centre, The Assembly House is one of Norfolk's most iconic wedding venues. Packed with character, stunning architecture and endless opportunities for beautiful wedding photography, it's easy to see why so many couples choose to celebrate their wedding day here.

When Alicha and Tom's wedding rolled around, I knew it was going to be a good one.

What I didn't know was quite how much emotion, laughter, chaos, confetti and questionable singing would be packed into a single day.

Morning Preparations Full of Emotion

The day started with morning preparations surrounded by friends, family and plenty of excitement.

From the moment I arrived, there was a real buzz in the air. The kind of atmosphere that tells you everyone is genuinely excited to be there.

There were emotional moments around every corner. Happy tears, huge hugs, nervous smiles and that growing anticipation that builds before a wedding ceremony.

Alicha looked absolutely incredible, helped by the talented supplier team around her. Every detail had been carefully thought through, but nothing felt forced or staged. It simply felt like a group of people celebrating two genuinely wonderful humans.

And honestly, that's exactly what Alicha and Tom are.

Two of the kindest, most welcoming and downright lovely people you could ever meet.

A Beautiful Wedding Ceremony at The Assembly House Norwich

The Assembly House provided the perfect setting for their ceremony.

As a Norwich wedding photographer, I've photographed weddings in some amazing locations across Norfolk, but there's something special about The Assembly House. The elegant interiors, historic features and central Norwich location make it a dream venue for both couples and photographers alike.

The ceremony itself was packed with emotion, the smiles when they first saw each other, the tears from family members, the laughter that broke the tension and those little moments that often go unnoticed but end up meaning the most.

It was one of those ceremonies where you could genuinely feel the love in the room..

The Confetti Tunnel That Nearly Took My Head Off

Let's talk about the confetti. Because wow.

I've photographed tons of weddings across Norfolk, but Alicha and Tom's confetti throw was absolute carnage in the best possible way. Their guests fully committed. Nobody held back.

Within seconds, Norwich city centre looked like it had been hit by a colourful confetti tornado.

Everywhere I looked there was confetti flying through the air, guests laughing their heads off and Alicha and Tom soaking up every second of it.

These are the moments I absolutely love photographing.

Real reactions.

Real fun.

No awkward posing.

Just pure joy.

The Maddest Wedding Breakfast Entrance

Just when I thought the day couldn't get any more energetic, it was time for Alicha and Tom's entrance into their wedding breakfast. And they didn't exactly do things quietly.

Instead of a polite walk into the room and a round of applause, they came charging in surrounded by sparklers, Fireball shots and a room full of guests completely losing their minds.

The atmosphere was unreal. Everyone was on their feet, cheering, laughing and waving sparklers around as the newlyweds made their entrance.

It felt less like a wedding breakfast and more like the opening scene of a sold out arena show.

Moments like this are exactly why I always tell couples to do things their way. Nobody is talking about whether the napkins matched the flowers perfectly, but everybody will remember the moment Alicha and Tom burst into the room with Fireball and sparklers.

It was loud, chaotic, completely over the top and absolutely brilliant.

Exploring Norwich City Centre for Wedding Photos

One of the biggest advantages of wedding photography at The Assembly House is having Norwich right on your doorstep. After the ceremony, we headed out into the city for some relaxed couple portraits.

Norwich is packed with incredible backdrops for wedding photography. From historic streets and beautiful architecture to hidden corners full of character, it's a fantastic location for couples wanting something a little different from traditional venue photographs.

The afternoon light was perfect, the city looked incredible and Alicha and Tom made my job ridiculously easy.

More importantly, it gave them a chance to step away from the celebrations for ten minutes and simply enjoy being newly married.

Those moments are often some of my favourites from the entire day.

A Thoughtful Surprise from BunX

One of the most unexpected and genuinely lovely moments of the day came courtesy of BunX.

Now here's the best bit. They weren't even involved with the wedding.

The team at BunX turned up with prosecco for Alicha and Tom simply because they wanted to do something nice for them.

No agenda.

No business involvement.

Just a thoughtful gesture.

In a world where people are often rushing around thinking about themselves, it was genuinely refreshing to see.

The surprise was hugely appreciated and added another memorable moment to an already incredible day.

So a massive shout out to the team at BunX for spreading a little extra joy.

A Party That Went Absolutely Off

If the daytime celebrations were amazing, the evening party somehow managed to take things up another level.

The dance floor was packed. The tunes were brilliant. The energy was through the roof.

And then Tom decided to grab the microphone.

What followed was completely impromptu, completely unexpected and absolutely brilliant.

The groom launched into an unplanned singing performance that had the entire room cheering, laughing and singing along.

It was one of those wedding moments that nobody could have predicted but everybody will remember.

The atmosphere was electric from start to finish.

Guests danced their feet off, the drinks flowed and the celebrations carried on late into the evening.

Exactly how a wedding party should be.

Why I Loved Photographing This Assembly House Wedding

As a Norfolk wedding photographer, days like Alicha and Tom's are exactly why I love what I do.

A beautiful wedding venue.

An incredible couple.

Real emotion.

Big laughs.

Wild confetti.

Amazing suppliers.

And a dance floor that never stopped.

Their wedding at The Assembly House in Norwich was the perfect reminder that the best weddings aren't about perfection.

They're about people. The people you love, the memories you make and the moments that happen naturally throughout the day.

Alicha and Tom absolutely nailed that.

Thank you both for having me along to capture it all.
